Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
At Rsume, we prioritize your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect from you, how we use it, and the rights you have concerning your data when you use our resume building platform.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. You may also authenticate via third-party providers like Google or Facebook.
- Resume Data: Any text, work experience, educational history, skills, and related data you input into our application.
- Uploaded Media: Profile photos or avatars you upload for your resume are securely processed and stored using object storage.
- Payment Information: For transactions, we utilize a secure third-party payment gateway. Rsume does not directly process or store your full credit card details.
- Guest Export Analytics: When a visitor without an account successfully exports a CV, we record the format, page size and count, language, device category, export duration, and a structured snapshot of the CV content. Snapshots are admin-only, image media is removed, and the snapshot is deleted no later than 30 days after export. A one-way HMAC of the IP address is retained to estimate unique visitors; raw IPs, raw user agents, and filenames are not stored.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Rsume application functionalities (e.g., rendering PDFs, applying formatting rules).
- To execute ATS Compatibility Audits and AI Optimization for Pro users.
- To manage your account, track Pro slots and ATS scans, and send account-related notifications.
3. Shared Information & AI Processing
Your privacy and data security are paramount. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. However, we may share information with trusted third-party providers required to operate the service:
- Cloud Infrastructure: We store application data securely on robust database systems and S3-compatible object storage.
- Artificial Intelligence Services: If you use our AI optimization features or ATS audits, relevant sections of your resume text may be securely processed using Large Language Models provided by Google (Gemini) or similar AI platforms. These API calls are strictly for providing you immediate writing assistance.
- Google AdSense: If Free-builder advertising is enabled and you have consented to cookies, Google may process device data and use cookies to serve and measure ads. Rsume does not send CV content as an advertising parameter.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
You have full control over your data. In the dashboard settings, you can choose to:
- Deactivate Your Account: Temporarily suspends your account.
- Permanently Delete Your Account: Removes all your data, resumes, history, and ATS audits completely and irrevocably from our servers.
- Guest Export Snapshots: CV content collected during an export without an account is retained for up to 30 days. The snapshot is then deleted while content-free aggregate operational metadata may remain.
If you choose to permanently delete your account, your data will be purged immediately from our active databases.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use authentication cookies and local storage for essential sessions and UI preferences. After you consent, Google Analytics may measure site use and Google AdSense may serve and measure ads in the Free builder. Ads are not loaded for Pro users or before consent.
6. Purchases & Refunds
All purchases are final and non-refundable. Pro and add-on purchases cannot be reversed once the transaction has been successfully processed.
Before completing payment, we encourage you to try the watermark-free Free PDF export to verify that the output quality meets your expectations.
By completing a payment, you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please use the Support portal from inside your Rsume dashboard to create a ticket.
